Our first guest on today’s episode of #ThatBusinessShow was Frank Murphy, Former running back, wide receiver and return specialist for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans. Frank now spends his time mentoring the youth in our community on how to deal with bullying and pressure from bad influences. Mentoring athletes in football, he is creating a new culture of role models to enter the sports arena as leaders and not followers. As an Author and Producer, he wrote a play, “The Man Behind the Helmet’. The play starts a five-city tour on Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. in Tampa, at the Don Thompson Theater on North Boulevard. Other stops include Atlanta, Miami, Jacksonville and Houston. Learn more about Frank Murphy and his illustrious career and his upcoming ventures at http://www.mbhstageplay.com or email him at mbhawp@gmail.com!

Our next guest was kelly Woodruff, Business Development Manager with PureLife Medi-Spa. PureLife Medi-spa was founded by G. Joseph Fitzgerald, Jr., DO, who was actually on #ThatBusinessShow as well! They specialize in what they call “youth maintenance”, rather than “anti-aging” procedures. They offer a large range of services ranging from non-surgical cosmetic procedures to decadent facials. They also specialize in the newly popular cool sculpting procedure, which can literally freeze fat cells off and help a person lose inches on their figure! Jamie and Kelly spoke about this procedure, which you’ll certainly be hearing more about soon! They have a new MINICOOL tool which will soon allow people to reach even more sensitive areas like under the neck for that troublesome hard to lose fat! To introduce these new systems, they are offering an introductory pricing of 25%off. So make sure to check out PureLife Medi-Spa at http://www.purelifemedispa.com!

Important Financial Advisory and Sleeping With The Fishes on #ThatBusinessShow – Featuring Mark Haney and Lauren Silva

Welcome to #ThatBusinessShow with your Host, Jamie Meloni on #1250whnz every weekday at 8am! Ever been interested in coming on the show as a guest to share your business or your story with our viewers? Drop us a line on http://www.tampabayradio.com, we love hearing from the community! Today, Jamie invited two very interesting guests to speak to our listeners, Expert Contributor Lauren Silva, Financial Advisor with Ameriprise Financial; and Mark Haney, Vice President of Advancement with The Florida Aquarium! We had a great discussion here on #ThatBusinessShow, and if you missed the live session, head over to http://www.tampabayradio.com to listen to any of our shows on demand! Also, you can see all of our past guests and connect to them through the guest network panel!

Our first guest here on #ThatBusinessShow with Jamie Meloni was Mark Haney, Vice President of Advancement with The Florida Aquarium. Mark handles all of the fundraising efforts with the aquarium, communicating with individuals and companies that wish to donate to the aquarium and support their efforts to provide a wonderful learning atmosphere to our community! Mark spoke to us about how they are about to break yet another record, of almost 800,000 visitors in this year alone! Celebrating their 20th anniversary, they have raised nearly 15 Million dollars in their Rising Tides Campaign! Their conservation efforts have certainly impacted our local ecosystem, fostering relationships with local industry to maintain clean waters and ensure the continued beauty of Florida’s ecosystem! Mark spoke to us a little about the inner workings of the aquarium, much due to a curious Jamie Meloni about the sharks. Who doesn’t love sharks though? The aquarium has a team of surgeons and state of the art equipment to care for the medical needs of the fish, and Mark mentioned a huge salt water filtering system – all in efforts to make the aquarium a better place for both animals and visitors alike! The Florida Aquarium has been an integral part of our community for the past 20 years, and they will continue to grow and educate our community! So check out http://www.flaquarium.org to purchase tickets and support our community, and learn more about their upcoming events!

Our second guest on this morning’s episode of #ThatBusinessShow was Expert Contributor and Financial Advior, Lauren Silva with Ameriprise Financial. Lauren is a holistic financial advisor, which means that she believes in the balance of personal and financial wellness, and that the two are intertwined. She spoke to Jamie of how being financially well does have significant impact on your personal health, how it can lower your stress and worry levels, and bring peace to your mind! Which I think we can all agree on is pretty true. Lauren’s focus is a tailored approach per client which focuses on all of the aspects in their life, not just their investment portfolio – giving Lauren a better picture of how to advise the client further to make adjustments that will benefit their future! Lauren isn’t afraid to have the hard conversations needed to really change someone’s financial status – which certainly sets her apart! Lauren and Jamie spoke about her upcoming seminar, “Strong Women, Powerful Financial Strategies” which covers gaining control over your financial situation, and helping women make more informed financial decisions, weighing the risks and managing their investments properly! So make sure to head to http://www.ameripriseadvisors.com/lauren.3.silva to learn more about her upcoming events! You can contact Lauren at lauren.3.silva.@ampf.com.

Show Recap – Shift in Media Focus with Award Winning Reporter Glenn Zimmerman and What’s on Tap at TAPS Restaurant Bar and Lounge

#ThatBusinessShow ends week 27 on 1250WHNZ, airing daily at 8am.  The show has been an incredible network builder for myself and show participants and is always looking for new guests and partners.  Email Jamie@tampabayradio.com for ways to get involved in the show, whether as a one time guest, or regular contributor and advertiser on the program!  All shows are streamed live online and can be viewed at http://www.tampabayradio.com and On Demand via my YouTube channel found here – https://www.youtube.com/user/jamiemeloni

My opening guest on the program was Glenn Zimmerman, CEO and President of Mad Bear Productions where he harnesses the power of story to help business, non-profits and events engage with their target audience through video marketing.  Glenn shifted directions in life after an award winning career as an award winning journalist with the #1 station in Detroit (WXYZ-TV) and with NBC’s flagship station in New York (WNBC-TV).

Glenn and I share a great discussion on the shift in media focus which was one of his drivers in leaving the profession to focus on his venture at Mad Bear Productions.  He, as do I, feels the media has focused away from information dissemination to a focus on ratings grabbing stories and partisan rhetoric.  While he’s quick to point out that many members of the media do amazing work, he was left feeling that the industry’s focus as a whole was not where he felt it should be and elaborates on that in this opening. segment.  The lovely Stella Giudicelli joins in on the discussion on the 2nd segment  and discusses how she has given up TV as of 3 years ago and the shift it has made in her mental focus and career is very positive. She also describes the differences she sees in European based news programming versus the news in the United States.  This is a great discussion and catch it On Demand on my YouTube Channel or http://www.tampabayradio.com, just click on Show Info for the replay, August 7th is the air date.  To learn more about Glenn, check out his website at http://www.madbearproductions.com and email him at info@madbearproductions.com or phone at 888-741-7730 for more information!

My 2nd guest on the program was James DeVito, Owner of TAPS Restaurant Bar and Lounge.  James ventured into the restaurant business after 7 successful years on Wall Street and talks about this transition and how he started at the bottom and worked his way up to now owning 4 locations under the TAPS brand.  He worked initially as a server and bartender to learn the restaurant business and worked his way up to a General Manager before entering culinary school to perfect his cooking skills.  3 years later, he opened his restaurant in downtown Tampa and 7 years later has 4 other locations.  The downtown location is located in the SkyPoint Building at 777 N Ashley Drive and many people have probably been inside and didn’t even realize it given its great location downtown with easy access to the Straz Center and many buildings Downtown.  Other locations are in International Plaza Mall in the Food Court, Winter Park Village outside of Orlando at 480 N Orlando Ave and Naples at 9108 Strada Place.  James highly recommends the meatballs as his favorite dish in his restaurant but they have a variety of offerings including beer, wine and liquor and they are open to hosting events, just contact James for more information. Learn more at http://www.tapsrestaurantbarandlounge.com and James can be reached at 813-876-5100 or email at tapsbeerwine@live.com!
