#ThatBusinessShow reminds all to take some time this weekend to remember the victims and all those affected by the tragic events on 9/11 15 years ago this Sunday. We all remember where we were when learning the news that terrible morning. Jamie was asleep in his bed after working (4) 12 hour night shifts in a row at was when then Cargill, now Mosaic. Being awoke at 9:30 by his girlfriend who told him to turn on TV to see what had happened and half asleep/confused, Jamie then turned on the TV shortly thereafter the second plane strike. A special thank you to all of the men and women that served our Country in the wake of this event as well as all of our past and current service men and women too.
#FocusFriday was the topic of the first hour of the program today. Juliann Nichols, CEO of Focus on You Strategy, joined the #MorningDiscussion alongside Lori Nadglowski, Certified Financial Planner and client of Focus on You Strategy. Juliann’s firm works with organizational leaders to improve their leadership and focus and increase the bottom line through new found efficiencies and effective delegation and can help your business too. Through CEO Exchanges and her latest focus group, Focus 57, she has worked with hundreds of CEOs to bring out the CEO in them including our guest Lori who recently left a partnership and has effectively had to start over in the world of Financial Planning. With over two decades of experience in the financial services industry, she took her passion for families and their financial well-being and in 2016, founded Laurel Wealth Management, LLC. Her firm is dedicated to building financial legacies and helping families prepare for retirement and focus on their financial legacy plan. As a graduate of University of Florida (UF), Lori holds a Bachelors of Economics degree and a Masters of Business Administration degree. Lori holds her Series 7, 24, and 63 through LPL Financial and Series 65 through Laurel Wealth Management, LLC. She is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designee. Lori stresses the importance of involving your children in the financial planning process and shares with us some techniques and strategies to get children interested and involved in this process at an early age – BUNNY MONEY, for one! And with a son turning 16, this weekend, we discuss the car buying process for teenagers and how to approach this situation as a parent, reminding us that a car is not an investment and that this point in their lives is a critical moment to teach them about the value of money and investments. Lori takes her passion for people, determination, and drive into her personal life as well. She finds value in having a work-life balance for herself and her clients. She enjoys learning and growing her skills in financial legacy planning and continues to meet with peers and experts on a regular basis. Her dedication to helping others goes beyond the normal “responsibility” found with most, she takes the time to look for what is really at the best interest of her client and provides the best service possible. As a Certified Financial Planner, she has additional training and certifications over the traditional financial adviser and invites you to a free consultation to learn more. Our 8am guest was Marcella Espinosa, Marketing Consultant with Entravision, a television network for the Hispanic culture. She was in studio today to talk about ways to reach the Hispanic market as a business professional because this is a target market for many but the differences in culture make it a challenge to reach effectively for some business owners. Entravision is the Tampa market affiliate for Univision which is based in Miami, Florida and their reach encompasses millions of Hispanic listeners and viewers each month. Marcella and Jamie discuss some of the cultural business differences that exist between traditional Americans and Hispanics highlighting how Hispanics value a strong personal relationship over traditional business dealings. They are drawn to those they can connect with on a personal level which makes some traditional American business professionals weary and uncomfortable and it is for this reason that many professionals fail to make connections with that audience. Jamie and Marcellla share a light hearted conversation on the Spanish novellas that are central to Spanish television and how you rarely see a Spanish woman on television that is dressed down, especially on the novellas. Marcella is an art lover and a recent implant into the Tampa region and is looking to grow and network with other business professionals to help them reach the Spanish market. Reach out to her today via email at email@example.com and learn more about them at www.entravision.com!
