Welcome back to another week of #ThatBusinessShow where we feature the community and business leaders from around the Tampa Bay region. Today we are welcomed by Tropical Storm Colin but it was not enough to stop today’s show. We wish everyone in Tampa Bay a safe day and please do not drive through water puddles if you do not know the depth in this rain event!
My opening guest today was Bill Rice, General Manager of The Tampa Club. The Tampa Club is celebrating its 35th Anniversary and is a City/Business Club for Tampa professionals. Located at the top of the Bank of America building in downtown Tampa, the location features stunning Tampa views, fabulous fine dining and event rooms for their members. They are part of the Tampa Bay Community of Clubs which offers access to many of the region’s top private clubs and resorts as well as over 100 clubs throughout the Country including the Center Club locally. Their club offers a network of professionals and programs to help mesh the members together, as noted in the title, if you’re not growing, you’re shrinking, and networking is a key component of growth! Learn more about their membership programs at www.thetampaclub.com or give them a call today at 813-229-6028.
At 7:30, I welcomed Philip Knight, Business Insurance Agent with BB&T Insurance Services, the 5th largest broker of insurance services Nationwide. Philip spoke of the history and culture of BB&T, one of which I can personally attest as being unlike other bank corporate cultures. Based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, BB&T offers their clients the feeling of doing business with someone close. Philip has a background in commercial background and is highly skilled in guiding business owners in all areas of insurance. We discussed Worker’s Compensation, General Liability, Errors and Omissions Insurance and touched on BOP (Combo) plans for business owners as well. Take advantage of their suite of services today by reaching out to Philip at 727-803-8105 or online at http://www.insurance.bbt.com!
At 8am, my guest was Dr. Larry Braue, Retired Lieutenant Colonel with the US Army and today the Director of the Office of Veteran Success at the University of South Florida. This program works with Veterans returning from service to become acclimated to the work / corporate environment. With programs ranging from resume writing and interviewing to networking, the program is geared to getting the Veteran working again. Dr. Braue shares with us his own experiences about retiring and entering the workforce in 2008 and talks about some of the unique challenges that Veterans face. Learn more about the program at http://www.veterans.usf.edu or give them a call today at 813-974-9935!
My last guest today was Ben Rampt, Owner of the Mr. C’s Grilled Cheese Food Truck. Launched last year, Ben and his Chef have turned grilled cheese into much more than a piece of cheese grilled between two white pieces of bread. As a matter of fact, they do not have any white bread on their truck, they use a specialty bread that gives the sandwich some additional spice. Ben shares with us some of the ins and outs of the food truck business and how they decide on locations and what areas work well for their business. They offer catering services too. Get in touch with them today at 813-302-1600 or online at http://www.csgrilledcheese.com for your next catered event!
