Our second guest on the show was Sue Harrell, Director of Marketing for the Florida Strawberry Growers Association. When it comes to Florida winter strawberries — Sue Harrell knows a thing or two. “I’ve been working for Florida strawberries almost all my life. Some of those years I was a management employee for a major corporation, others as a farmer and volunteer for the Florida industry. The farmers in Plant City and neighboring Dover, Florida are truly a family. There are about a hundred of us. We pitch in to help each other and work together to get the word out about winter strawberries,” she said. The FSGA is a nonprofit, voluntary organization that represents over 10,000 acres of berries. The headquarters are in Dover, Florida.
